All Volunteers must attend a Volunteer Orientation. North Shore Horse Rescue and Sanctuary has established guidelines and standards to provide for the safety and comfort for both volunteers and the horses in our care. These guidelines are set forth in the Volunteer Orientation and Volunteer handbook.
Must be 16 years of age
Location: North Shore Horse Rescue
2330 Sound Ave., Baiting Hollow, NY
Dress Code: Wear closed shoes, boots, (no steel-toed boots) and clothes you don't mind getting wet or dirty. Dress for the elements. We meet rain or shine.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
You will take a tour of the farm and learn about
the rescue, the animals, and how you can help the cause.
You will also learn about barn chores, getting hands-on experience with:
• Grooming the horses
• Chicken coop maintenance
• Pick-up and dumping of manure
• Filling water buckets and troughs
• Mucking (cleaning stalls, run-in sheds, and paddocks)
